This year, the Perseids will not be obscured by moonlight as they were last year and should promise to be quite spectacular this year. If you’re lucky, you may be able to spot every planet, minor planet, an asteroid and a comet this month, starting from the west, with Ceres, Venus, Jupiter, Vesta, Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Neptune, Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner, Uranus and Mercury, although you will have to wait until the end of the month to spot Mercury. All but Mercury may be spotted during the peak of the Perseids. </span></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; -webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); min-height: 14px;" class=""><span style="font-kerning: none" class=""></span><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; -webkit-text-stroke-width: initial; -webkit-text-stroke-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class=""><span style="font-kerning: none" class=""><b class="">A Challenge for my subscribers: </b>See how many of these objects you can spot during your Perseid observations.
